NHL: The Senators should announce their presence in Quebec in the fall

The Ottawa Senators are expected to announce Monday that they will play one or more preparatory games in Quebec during the next training camp.

According to The SunSenators owner Michael Andlauer will be in the Old Capital to announce an event that will be held at the Videotron Center.

A few days ago, Montreal Canadiens owner Geoff Molson announced that his organization was close to announcing the presentation of a pre-season game in Quebec.

This announcement would thus confirm information announced by our colleague François Gagnon last October. He then shared that the Senators were indeed going to be in action at the end of September in Quebec just like the Montreal Canadiens.

François Gagnon had indicated that this new visit by the NHL to the Videotron Center would cost taxpayers nothing.

Last fall, the Los Angeles Kings held part of their training camp in Quebec in addition to playing two games there. The arrival of the Kings was controversial because of the subsidy paid to the team to come and establish its home in the capital for a few days.
