Achraf Hakimi explains the reasons for Hakimi’s absence against Reims

Luis Enrique revealed the reasons for the absence of Achraf Hakimi and Marquinhos during PSG’s match against Stade de Reims, played on Saturday and concluded with a draw (1-1).

In the press conference after the match, Luis Enrique explained that the absence of both players was linked to a strategy to manage their physical load, due to a busy schedule for the club. The team is preparing in particular for a crucial meeting in the Champions League against VfB Stuttgart.

“We decided to rest Marquinhos and Hakimi because it seemed like the best decision. Our schedule is very demanding, and managing the energy of our players is essential to achieving our goals”declared the Spanish coach, before adding:

“All players will be ready to start the match against Stuttgart. We know that the Champions League requires a lot of concentration and effort, and we are prepared”.

Hakimi, who occupies a central place in the PSG squad as vice-captain behind Marquinhos, is considered one of the pillars of the team. This season he has made 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 7 assists.
