Bottal
- Servette confirmed the reinforcement arrivals of Joseph Nonge and Alioune Ndoye.
- There is this match in Yverdon on Saturday: a victory is necessary to recover their ideas.
- René Weiler almost went to the United States.
Even if all the steps have already been started by Servette, there is little chance of seeing Joseph Nonge On the field on Saturday evening, in Yverdon. The 19 -year -old Belgian promising was on the other hand in training this Friday for the first time with his new team. Difficult to really assess what it will bring, but we have seen correctness, intensity and a sense of initiative for this No. 6.
It is loaned until June by Juventus, with a purchase option: Servette will pay nearly 2.5 million francs to definitively cling the Nonge services in June, if necessary. Anyway too high anyway for garnet?
Dare to recruit
Not necessarily. There is indeed a time when Servette will have to decide to grow and to do so, agree to invest, in every sense of the word. If Nong is strong, if he highlights himself, if he attracts looks and lusts, then maybe Servette will know that he can lift the purchase option to then sell her player, in a calculation Winner, if an interested club is ready to offer 4 million for the player, for example.
Growing up, for Servette is also to be able to anticipate these kinds of opportunities, to take advantage of it, like other Swiss clubs are capable of it (Basel, YB, for example). This of course presupposes a financial investment, a share of risk too, but to cross a level in the development of the club also involves this kind of vision. We are not there yet, but it just has to become possible.
Weiler almost left
Another transfer almost took place. René Weiler had already suggested that an offer of MLS, the American league, or Bundesliga, could make it think. MLS’s offer has arrived, according to our information (Vancouver?). But the sports director is still in Geneva.
Contact occurred in two stages. A first at the end of the year and something concrete then, with a precise offer, in early January. René Weiler informed the garnet leaders. These, a few days before the recovery, were not delighted with the idea of letting their sports director go, this is understood. And Weiler, for his part, did not insist, also understanding the situation and his Servettian responsibilities so close to the said recovery.
He does not want to comment on the subject and says that he is fully focused on the Servettien objectives. You have to believe it. This episode does not want to mean that Weiler is absolutely looking for. Simply that his profile interests other clubs and that we will have to see on a case -by -case basis, if approaches exist. They have already existed (on the side of the Bundesliga too) and will still exist.
Back to Vessy. This Friday in training, so there was Nonge. But not yet Alioune Ndoye. The Valmiera striker, in Latvia, is a serial scorer on paper. It will be necessary to confirm at 23 years, in Switzerland, its qualities as a finisher. Will the 191 centimeter Senegalese be this long-awaited scorer in Geneva. You should probably not get carried away.
Affordable option
His arrival at Servette FC is also made in the form of a loan, with a purchase option. But nothing to do with the Nonge (Belgian International M20 International case which belongs to Juve). The purchase option is relatively low for Ndoye, in other words largely affordable for Servette.
A great opportunity if the attacker confirms his arrangements in front of the opposing cage and even if he needed a little time to do so. To see it in the field, the Senegalese will have to still obtain a residence permit and work. Servette has already taken the procedures with the tripartite commission in particular. Patience.
Finally, Servette is on the track of a winger, who is currently in L2 in France. Contacts are advanced, it remains to be seen whether Geneva will join this winter or this summer.
Compulsory victory
In short, things are finally moving. But in the meantime, the garnet must get back on the right rails. By beating Yverdon on Saturday evening. “Against Saint-Gall (Editor’s note: null 1-1 last Saturday), we touched the ball 48 times in the sixteen opposing meters!, launches Thomas Häberli. And we have pulled 24 times. At the end, it is only the effectiveness that counts, it is true. So we really have to be more decisive. ”
How? Against Saint-Gall, there are a lot of floats in the first period. In his desire to reposition Bradley Mazikou in the center for recovery, Häberli loses the percussion force of the left side on his side, when he combines with Kutesa. It may be settled with Joseph Nonge soon.
Mazikou and the happy medium
Waiting for? Mazikou talks about it. “I agree: in the first period, against Saint-Gall, it was complicated,” he said. I may too often have come to the center, or too early. It was better after half-time. You have to find the right middle. Because yes, it’s true, it sometimes weakens the left flank. “
Bradley Mazikou, injured in the fall, is back. And he is never as decisive as when he gets along on the left, with Dereck Kutesa. “Everything is going well, but I lack a little rhythm to find my level before my knee injury.”
It may be for this Saturday evening. As with this Servette who wants victory. “Yes, a success to launch a series,” smiles Mazikou.
