Winner of its last match in the Champions League, against PSV Eindhoven (1-0) after its rout at Barcelona (0-3), Stade Brestois lost for the second time this season in the competition, Wednesday, against Shakhtar Donetsk (0-2). On the lawn of the Veltins-Arena, in Gelsenkirchen – the match was relocated to Germany because UEFA prohibited Shakhtar from playing its home matches in Ukraine, due to the war – Eric Roy’s players collapsed in first period, on two goals scored by Kevin Macedo (18th) and Georgiy Sudakov (37th), following individual errors by the Bretons. The latter occupy 11th place in the ranking and are guaranteed to compete in at least the play-offs.
