Nampalys Mendy in the sights of two Ligue 1 clubs, including Saint-Étienne

Pushed towards the exit, Nampalys Mendy is no longer part of the plans of Will Still, the coach. The Senegalese international, who had rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia, is now in the sights of three clubs, including two which play in the French championship.

Barred by competition in Lens, Nampalys Mendy has played only three matches since the start of the season. As the Sang et Or seek to downsize their squad, the former Leicester player has been placed on the club’s unwanted list.

The player, who had a career marked by spells at clubs like Leicester City and before returning to Monaco, could see his future written elsewhere in . The Senegalese, whose contract ends in June, is being courted by several clubs interested in the services of Mendy, a player of experience and quality.

According to information from RMC, 3 clubs are interested in the 32-year-old Senegalese international. These are 2 French Ligue 1 clubs and another from abroad, notes the French media. The names of the clubs have however not been revealed, but according to the media “Le11”, one of the French clubs interested in Nampalys Mendy would be AS Saint-Étienne, currently 16th and play-off from Ligue 1.
