Australian Sam Welsford wins the first stage of the Tour Down Under

The British Matthew Brennan (Visma) took second place, the Australian Zac Marriage third. Arriving with the peloton, the Frenchman Bastien Tronchon, a breakaway with Marriage and the Australian Fergus Browning (CCachexBodywrap), is credited with 5th place overall (+ 7”). The second stage, 128.8 km, will take place entirely in Tanuda.
