Genève-Servette must be dreaming of a miracle on Tuesday in Zurich! The Eagles are preparing to play their second leg of the CHL semi-final at the Swiss Life Arena. Defeated 6-1 at Les Vernets, the Grenat will have to score quickly in order to hope to be able to turn this series around.

After the success of Operation Fluff, the Eagles are tackling another operation this time: Operation Miracle! Beaten 6-1 at Les Vernets in the first leg of the semi-final, they will have to put out an exceptional performance to qualify for the grand final and thus be able to defend their title. The deal is simple, the men of the Treille/Franzén duo must win by at least five goals to secure an extension. The task promises to be extremely difficult but if they succeed, the story would be incredible.

The reality of the numbers

If hope should always be there, the figures are not as optimistic. Zurich is better in every way. 1st in points per game (1,944), 3rd best attack, best defense in the Swiss championship. In the CHL it is also excellent and the Zurich residents have two of the three best scorers in the competition (Andrighetto 19 points / Malgin 17 points). In goal, Hrubec is the third goalkeeper in the National League with 92.62% saves and only 2.07 goals conceded per match.

To achieve this feat, the GSHC knows that it will have to be perfect behind and very efficient up front! The solution, for the Eagles, could come from powerplay opportunities. Indeed, in these situations, the Garnet have excelled since the start of the season. With 27.55% success, they are second! In addition, the rule specific to the CHL which says that even if we score a goal in powerplay, the punished player must still wait until the end of the penalty to return. But no matter how, it will take a miracle to reach the final.

This match between Genève-Servette and ZSC Lions will be played at the Swiss Life Arena from 8:15 p.m. this Tuesday. The match can be followed live and in full on MySports, Radio Lac (91.8) and RTS!
