Friday, Manchester City made Erling Haaland’s totally crazy extension official. Crazy since the cyborg, announced in the future in the sights of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, has signed a new contract which now binds him until 2034 with the Skyblues. Suffice it to say that the four-time reigning English champion has strengthened his superstar, who is likely to spend the majority of his career in the north of England. An announcement which inevitably pleased a certain Pep Guardiola.

At the press conference, the Spaniard was simply over the moon: “When Ferran Soriano told me about Haaland’s contract, I said… sorry? Excuse me ? Of course I couldn’t believe it! This had never happened before. He said: I want to convince Erling to stay for 10 years! And it happened… the club, Erling, his agent, his family, we all wanted it” he declared. As a reminder, the Norwegian arrived in the summer of 2022 at the Citizens from Borussia Dortmund. In two and a half years, he has already won six titles with the Citizens (a Champions League , two Premier Leagues, a European Super Cup, an FA Cup, a Community Shield).
