A dramatic accident cost the life of a man in his fifties this Friday, January 17, early in the afternoon, on departmental road 933, in Estigarde, in the Landes.
An accident that occurred in the middle of the day
According to France 3, the accident occurred shortly before 2 p.m., on this axis crossing the small Landes commune, located northeast of Mont-de-Marsan. The victim, who was walking along the road, was hit by a heavy goods vehicle.
An unsuccessful emergency intervention
Despite rapid mobilization of emergency services, the man did not survive the violence of the impact. The SMUR doctor confirmed his death on site.

The driver of the heavy goods vehicle, visibly very affected by the accident, was taken care of by the rescuers and transported to the Layné hospital center in Mont-de-Marsan for medical follow-up.
