Kyshawn George set a new personal best Thursday in the NBA by scoring 24 points against Phoenix.
But the performance of choice from the Valais ‘rookie’ was not enough for Washington, who lost 130-123 against the Suns.
Coming off the bench Thursday evening, Kyshawn George was entitled to more than 30 minutes of play against Devin Booker (37 points) and the Suns. He took full advantage of it: he made 8 of his 10 shots (with a remarkable 6/8 at 3 points), adding 4 rebounds and 4 assists for a differential of +11.
George led the charge in the fourth quarter for the Wizards, who were able to believe in victory by achieving a 12-0 partial to come back to within 3 points of the Suns (120-117) at 1’06 from the ‘buzzer’ . But Devin Booker took away all hope from Washington 20 seconds later by returning his winning basket.
-This defeat is the eighth in a row for the Wizards, the 33rd of the season already in 39 outings. For the record, Washington had experienced a much longer black streak – 16 consecutive defeats – this fall.
