After the fire that ravaged the Dupotier farm building in Saint-Donat-de-Rimouski on May 5, a wave of solidarity formed, notably on social networks, in support of farmers.
In addition to the messages of solidarity, it has been raised several times that the owners – who worked hard to save as many cows as possible – were able to count on the support of neighbors, farmers and other people to put the survivors of the flames in safety.

In the aftermath of the fire, a gofundme, with a goal of $ 10,000, was launched by family friends. When writing these lines, a few days later, 46 donations and $ 3,440 had been raised.
“Last night, a fire destroyed the farm of my best friend’s family, Mateo. It’s hard to believe. In a few hours, they lost everything: their stable, their tools, their memories, their livelihood. It is not just a building that has gone up in smoke, it is a whole life of work, love, sacrifices, ”it can be read in the description of the fundraising campaign.

The initiator of the GoFundme indicates that the Pelletier family, to whom the Dupotier farm belongs, is an honest, generous family and always there for others.
“Their land was their pride, their mission, their way of life. Today, they find themselves with nothing, or almost, and a huge path to rebuild. »»
It is possible to contribute to the fundraising campaign by typing “Pelletier and Ferme Dupotier” family in the search bar of the gofundme.com website.
