The 23-year-old from Switzerland showed great things in Austria with two 8th places, marking a solid return to the European Cup after more than a season and a half at a standstill. Alina Willi scores a new top 10.
The long fight to return to competition has paid off for Livia Rossi. The Schwyz resident finished 8th and best Swiss in the Zauchensee descent on Thursday, her 5th outing in the European Cup since her return to the slopes. Promising results for the 23-year-old skier, who suffered a concussion in January 2023, followed by a broken ankle in the fall, which sidelined her for a season and a half. It was only this winter that she returned to competition. But with her 8th place during the first descent on Wednesday she now signs the best results of her career in addition to a podium in Sankt Anton three years ago.
Alongside her in the top 10, Alina Willi, already 6th on Wednesday, continues to show great things in the antechamber of the World Cup by finishing 9th. It was once again an Austrian hat-trick that took the lead, with Nadine Fest taking victory ahead of Victoria Olivier and Carmen Spielberger.
Among the Swiss, Sina Fausch ranked 16th again, ahead of Nora Guggisberg (19th), Zoé Mannhardt (23rd), Celine Reichenbach (31st) and Leandra Zehnder (32nd).
