According to the Euroleague, “the management control commission (MCC), an independent commission responsible for examining the financial performance of clubs and ensuring their compliance with the regulations in force“, considered that Monaco had infringed “two specific provisions of the financial stability and fair play regulation» of the competition: article 7 and article 3f.

The team therefore did not provide the body with “all financial information necessary to assess the club’s compliance with the financial stability and fair play regulations» (article 7), nor respected “the requirement of the shareholder contribution rate», which amounts to a maximum of 50% of the budget (article 3f).

For these reasons, the Euroleague indicated that AS Monaco had seen itself “impose a financial fine“, the amount of which was not revealed, and that the MCC had “reached a settlement agreement» with the Principality club.

In 2024, five other clubs, including Real Madrid and Barcelona, ​​had, like Monaco, been obliged to enter into a financial agreement with the MCC for having also violated various provisions of the Euroleague’s financial fair play. .
