Two days after the heavy defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final, tension is still high in Madrid.
Everything seemed to be going well in Madrid which had just had 5 consecutive successes, won the Intercontinental Cup and had managed to outstrip FC Barcelona by 5 points in La Liga. The Spanish Super Cup was in this sense a good test for Carlo Ancelotti’s men which turned out to be catastrophic. Once again, the Madrilenians sank against a top team and against the historic rival.
In Madrid, we want to remain calm despite the media storm, which does not prevent doubts, tensions and even internal criticism, as Relevo recounts this Tuesday. Carlo Ancelotti is the most singled out after this umpteenth slump but the club continues to give him peace of mind because there are no plans to change coach before the end of the season.
However, it is difficult not to assume that the Italian is once again weakened by the events and even if he has every intention of dying with his ideas, certain players in the Real Madrid locker room harbor a certain annoyance at the respect of the coach and his technical staff.
In question, certain decisions of the coach who does not treat all the players in the same way. It is more severe with some than others, there are the statutes and the physical aspect of the squad is also a source of concern within the club. We indeed note the group more tired than usual and it was still glaring against Barça.
In this sense, the preparation of Pintus is always debated but it is above all the lack of rotations of the Madrid coach which is singled out. Finally, Florentino Perez does not escape criticism, who is criticized for his lack of reaction in the transfer window despite injuries and when the needs are urgent.
The Real Madrid boss’s attitude after the final, too relaxed for some, was also criticized. Without forgetting the silence of the club as a whole in relation to the Dani Olmo and Pau Victor cases in Barcelona while many Spanish clubs are speaking out to point out injustice and inequalities.
Finally, the players do not escape criticism. Some executives are not evolving at the expected level and the most worrying thing is that we doubt that they can really reach the level required in Madrid like Tchouaméni or Lucas Vazquez who have been particularly criticized in recent hours in Spain. But they are not the only ones.
