CAF announces the postponement of CHAN from February to August 2025

On the eve of the group draw, CAF announced the postponement of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) – tournament reserved for players playing in their country -, initially scheduled for February 1 to 28, to the month of august. Despite “notable progress made in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda in the construction and upgrading of stadiums, training grounds, hotels, hospitals and other infrastructure and facilities”CAF recognizes in a press release that “technical and infrastructure experts” interviewed estimated “that more time is needed to ensure that infrastructure and facilities are at the level necessary to successfully host CHAN”.
