Discover the reactions of the Academy coaches after the weekend’s matches:
N3: ESTAC 6-0 Moulins
Alou Diarra – N3 coach:
“There are many reasons for satisfaction after this successful victory, the first of the season at home! We were vigilant on the defensive aspect and efficient up front. The only downside is the injury of one of our players. Otherwise, in content and intentions, it was very good. There is still room for improvement, and that’s what’s interesting. We can still be more consistent, more efficient and that is why we must continue to be demanding in training. But it does indeed give reason for hope for the rest of the championship. We have to rely on this type of matches to make positive series. Our goal is to continue from now on. Since December, we have had good momentum, five matches without defeat including three victories. We have a young group, who discovered the senior world at the start of the season but today we feel progress from each player, four and a half months later. The ranking is very tight, it can swing quickly in either direction. The trip to Dijon does not look easy but we are going there with a lot of ambition, with the hope of achieving a second consecutive victory to get 2025 off to a good start. Each match has its truth, it is up to us to recover well and get on well. prepare for this match against a quality opponent. »

U19: ESTAC 4-2 Metz
Nicolas Munda – National U19 Coach:
“We are ahead 2-0 at the break even if we could/should have been 3-0 with a goal disallowed for non-existent offside. The first period was generally controlled even if we put ourselves in danger a few times on ball releases. We were quite surprised that Metz came to pick us up like this on the pressing, we had worked on another system during the week. After the break, they intensified their pressing and we played too much from the back. We handled Messins less well and we made mistakes which put them back in the match. But our third goal also shows that our ball exits, although dangerous, can allow us to endanger the opponent. What I really liked was that despite the challenges and the context, the players persevered in our game project, without being afraid and taking initiatives. They enjoy doing things that can sometimes seem impossible. At 2-1, we are obviously less calm but the young people kept their line of conduct and that is to their credit. In our management, we leave a lot of room for initiative, decision-making and freedom. And the fourth goal, once again, supports that. We create a framework within which we leave freedom to the players, who are the final decision-makers on the pitch. Then we create a climate in which the players can have confidence, despite the mistakes, because that is what we ask of them. We try not to panic, which generates control on a mental level. Regardless of the context, whether we are led or not, we continue to produce this game because we do it well. Our goal is to give pleasure to the spectators and I think that those who were there on Sunday did not regret coming, despite the cold. And it’s quite gratifying. But it’s also important not to get carried away by this excitement around our way of playing, it must remain effective. We must now focus on the championship after this great Cup break. It’s another important match, which can allow us to advance in the standings, against a big team and in a derby what’s more. We hope that spectators will show up again this Sunday! »
