The weekend was rich in meetings for Chaurian Tennis players.
On Saturday afternoon, the seniors + 45 team from Tennis Club Castelnaudary had to face TC La Garenne. Unfortunately, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the meeting was postponed. The match is rescheduled for Saturday January 18.
Sunday was marked by a double confrontation between TC Castelnaudary and ET Malepère. In the morning, the young people in the 8/10 year old category, led by Laurent Latrasse, competed in the semi-finals of the Aude championship. Despite great fighting spirit, the team lost. In doubles, Timothée Latrasse and Raphaël Molina failed to win. In singles, Raphaël won, while Arthur Le Guellec Petit lost.
Among adults, the matches took place in Castelnaudary as part of the quarter-finals of the 3rd division Aude championship. The Chauriens shone by winning the match 4 to 2. In singles, Stéphane Bourniquel, Rémi Fiocco, Rares Negreï and Thomas Alcacer ensured victory with their respective successes. In doubles, Jérôme Julia and Laurent Schwartz lost, but the essentials were already acquired thanks to the performances in singles. The team is now qualified for the semi-finals, which will be played on Sunday January 26, either in Chalabre or Névian.
