A team performance
I didn’t know what to expect before this match. We worked during training on attitudes, on certain paths. I expected to experience interesting moments in this meeting and other more difficult ones. But it’s a fantastic first! I liked seeing this team evolve in this way, to see certain players express themselves like this with a real collective spirit. Playing this match after losing the previous four in a row, being behind at the break… it took mental effort from the players. Scoring three goals in this context is a great performance!
His words during the break
We had to create and give conviction to the players, tell them that we were capable of scoring two goals and turning this match around. Coming back from the break, we also needed to control certain situations, we sometimes lacked it in midfield, and also show patience. When we got the ball back, I liked seeing my players move forward. We now have to be able to create opportunities from further away. (…) Having a style of play is very important. I saw relaxed players on the pitch, able to work hard to create a lot of situations. It gave them confidence and that’s what this group needs.
