Predators forward Ryan O’Reilly’s days could be numbered in Nashville.
Saturday evening, Sportsnet hockey expert Elliotte Friedman reported that several teams had inquired about the veteran’s availability and that the Preds remained very receptive.

However, two conditions would have to be met for the 33-year-old skater to find himself elsewhere: the exchange must really excite the Predators and O’Reilly must give his agreement.
“He signed a four-year contract without any protection. No no-trade clause or no-movement clause or anything, but he’s treated like he has a no-movement clause,” Friedman emphasized during his time at Hockey Night in Canada.
O’Reilly joined the Preds through the free agent market in the summer of 2023. He signed a deal worth $18 million ($4.5 million per year).
In 39 games so far in 2024-2025, the center has amassed 12 goals and 13 assists for a total of 25 points.
If he were ever traded by the Predators, O’Reilly would wear the colors of a sixth team in the Bettman circuit. He previously worked for the Colorado Avalanche, Buffalo Sabres, St. Louis Blues and Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Ontarian has been the subject of three transactions since the start of his professional career.
