The Athletic has confirmed that the English club have secured the signing of a young central defender from Lens, who will sign a contract until December 2029 for a fee of $40 million.

The Palmeiras defender has reached an agreement with Manchester City, and negotiations will continue, reports Sky Sports. The two clubs are discussing the potential extension of Vitor Reis’ stay at the Brazilian side until July due to the Club World Cup.
