Winners of Athletic Club de Bilbao in the semi-final (2-0), in Jeddah, Barça faces the Merengue, scorers of Mallorca (3-0). After winning the trophy in 2023, the Catalans saw Real Madrid win last year. Sunday evening at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, FC Barcelona will try to win its 15th trophy in the competition in which it is number one in the number of titles (14, compared to 13 for Real Madrid).
Real are hungry for revenge
Either way, coming back from Saudi Arabia as champion would be a huge boost for the second half of the season. In addition, it would help build confidence and gain psychological advantage over one of the main rivals for the La Liga title. Carlo Ancelotti’s men still have their defeat in La Liga (0-4) in mind and want to wash away the affront on Sunday.
With Dani Olmo and Pau Victor registered, Hansi Flick can count on most of his squad. His group will have to be at the top of their game to win on Sunday evening. Force Barça!
