For the Avenir Monclarais XV Rugby club, this Sunday, January 12, there will be no game because the teams are exempt. Still taking advantage of the off-season break, the group is actively preparing for the resumption which will take place next Sunday, January 19 in Monclar-de-Quercy. This day will have a particular convivial aspect because it will be the so-called sponsors’ day, bringing together at the clubhouse the many people who come to support the sports organization which plays a major role in local life. By tradition, rugby is anchored in the sporting history of the city. A group of friends make up the two teams who sometimes find their way with difficulty in the heart of the Regional 2 territorial championship.
An essential boost
The resumption day will be marked by the reception of the neighboring club of Villemur-Fronton, which will generate a real derby. All efforts will then be required of our ardent defenders of the Monclarais colors…
Even if the results of the first phase testify to a complicated journey, the rebound can and must take place, the public is in suspense in the face of these elements which have sometimes pleasantly surprised like unpredictable free electrons… all hopes rest on New Year’s wishes which cannot, as everyone here wishes, be insensitive to so much motivation!
Pre-match meal at noon
As there will be an air of rugby celebration that day at the Stade André Lescure, a meal is always the best friendly bond to seal the friendship between the sponsors, hosts of the day and die-hard supporters. On the menu: dinner aperitif, beef-truffade steak, cheese and dessert, all for the sum of €15.
