The Greek clubAEK Athens announced this Saturday, January 11 that an agreement has been reached with its Moroccan player Nordin Amrabat for an amicable termination of contract.
Arriving at AEK in 2021, the Lion of the Atlas won a historic double by winning the Greek championship and cup in the 2022/2023 season.
In a statement, the club expressed its gratitude to Amrabat for his performances and efforts:
« The AEK family, led by President Marios Eliopoulos, warmly thanks Nordin for everything he has brought to the club. We wish him health and success for the rest of his career. »

For his part, Amrabat sent a farewell message to the supporters and officials of theAEK via his account Instagram :
« Today marks the end of an unforgettable chapter in my career. Three and a half years filled with wonderful memories. I would like to especially thank Mr. Mario, Mr. Dimitris, our incredible supporters, and all the wonderful people working at our training center. »
According to several sources, the former Moroccan international would be approached to join the ranks of Wydad Casablanca for the remainder of the current season. A long-standing friendship between the president of Wydad, Hicham Aït Mannaand the agent of Nordin Amrabat could accelerate the conclusion of this potential signing.
