INTERVIEWS Olivier Deschacht will be present in the stands with his dad to attend the RSCA match against FC Bruges this Sunday. He hopes that he will enjoy watching this match even if he is afraid of seeing his favorite club suffer another defeat after the two consecutive losses suffered in the championship.
The last two matches of 2024 did not reassure the former RSCA left back and the meeting against Beerschot in the Belgian Cup did not remove his doubts. He is a fan of David Hubert but he adds that the defeat against Dender is for his apple.
He would put in place a fairly strong defense against Bruges with Ludwig Augustinsson Thomas Foket, if he is fit, at back. However, he sees a big problem with the placement of Leander Dendoncker as a central defender when he is more useful as a defensive midfielder.
He adds that it is in the midfield that the match will be played, so he would place Killian Sardella as central defender and a midfield composed of Yari Verschaeren, Leander Dendoncker and Mats Rits. He believes that we need to trust Yari Verschaeren more and give him back the trust that he seems to have lost.
-He trusts Oliver Renard to have a good transfer window. The sporting director knows the championship and he will not hesitate to seek out players already present in the championship. He points out the names of Loïc Lapoussin from the Union and Adriano Bertaccini from Sint-Truiden.
