Amadou Gallo Fall, president of the African Basketball League (BAL), is currently present in Rabat to launch the 2025 BAL season, which starts with the Combine, a prospecting event which highlights the most promising young basketball players. talented and promising people from Africa.
The leader, very enthusiastic at the idea of returning to Rabat, the capital of the Kingdom, is growing impatient as the Kalahari Conference (April 5-13), the first in the history of Morocco, approaches.
He highly praises Morocco’s quality infrastructure and affirms that it is possible to see the country host a final phase (Playoffs) of the BAL in the near future. While this phase of the competition is traditionally held in Kigali, Rwanda being an early partner of the BAL, this season it is held in Pretoria, South Africa.
The leader also welcomes the close collaboration between the BAL and the FRMBB, the governing body of basketball in Morocco, welcoming the permanent efforts of Moroccan officials and their commitment to the development of this sport at the continental level.
He also talks about the importance of supporters and the enthusiasm around the BAL. The Senegalese leader is counting on a significant presence of supporters of the FUS, national representative in the competition, but also of all the Rbatis. The attendance is naturally very important for the BAL.
He affirms that the BAL marketing teams are already present on site, having arrived from Dakar (Senegal), and are working to ensure the promotion and success of the Kalahari conference.
-This 5th edition therefore begins in Rabat, before continuing in Dakar, Kigali and therefore Pretoria. It will start on Saturday April 5 at the Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat and end on Saturday June 14 at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria.

The 12 teams will be divided into 3 conferences of 4 members each. The Kalahari conference will be held in Rabat from April 5 to 13, while the Sahara conference is expected from April 26 to May 4 in Dakar and the Nile Conference is scheduled between May 17 and 25 in Kigali.
Eight teams will then qualify for the Playoffs in Pretoria which will start on June 6, while the final is therefore set for the 14th of the same month.
