Celebrate the club's 30th anniversary

The Paimpolais basketball élan club will celebrate turns 30 this year.

Under the leadership of Fabien Riou, the president, the club wants to have a big party. On this occasion, moreover, the president invite everyone who played or had a link with the club to make themselves known.

In June, the club will celebrate its 30th birthday and wants a day synonymous with a great celebration.

We have big projects and ideas in our heads. Now we will have to come together and make it all happen.

International 3v3 tournament

As a highlight of this year, the club has for project to welcome a international tournament of 3 against 3in Kerraoul.

“It is a discipline which remains marginal in clubs, despite the great Olympic epics this summer. We would like to organize this over three days. And 3 against 3 because 5 against 5 would require even greater organization, because there would be more players and managers to accommodate. We don't have the infrastructure to do so.”

This would be the biggest event that the club has organized since the association existed.

We don't know if it will work, but we will be able to accommodate them and we could accommodate around 40 teams.

While finalizing the regulations, the invitations will be sent out quickly.

A dynamic club of several teams

With 190 licensees once again this year, the association managed to stabilize its membership.

“We reached the peak two years ago, with 200 members. When I took over the club with Fred Robert, we had 60 members and even had a season with 40 members.”

The club has a team in each youth category, two senior men's teams and a senior women's team.

We would like to bring the men's and women's teams up to the Pre-regional level. But with the last defeat of 3 points, we already no longer have a joker.

Among the youth, the club is considering creating an U15 girls team for the next generation of U18s who will progress to senior level.

If the first teams are considering the higher division, the 2-man team wants to focus on the pleasure of playing together.

It has now been two seasons since this team was created and they want to show the progress they have made. So these remain competitors who will not deprive themselves of playing something if they can.

An employee between three sports clubs

The EBP has also experienced a major change within its management team which has acquired a employee. Maxence Ernot, sports instructor, came to lend a hand:

We are three associations, with handball and athletics, sharing his work with us. This is a great help for us. He helps us on Saturday afternoon. We have busy days that can start at 1:30 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m. Things run better thanks to him.

Fabien Riou's protégés can also count on a new dynamism in terms of volunteers. “We have a great team, without them we couldn’t do much. For example, the fluorescent tournament that we organized or the sale of club items. »

The club also has a heart on its sleeve and has been organizing a charity day for popular relief for several years now. “This year again we have had a lot of donations of toys or books for popular relief. »

A thirtieth anniversary which will close a year full of events.
