New season, and new fine for Tarbes Gespe Bigorre. After narrowly escaping, on appeal, relegation to the regional league for not having met the requirements of the Management Control Commission (CCG) of the French Basketball Federation (FFBB), the club is once again pinned.
-Already last year, management was fined 7,900 euros. This time, the CCG demands 10,600 euros from him for three offenses : an overrun in the management of personnel costs (6,700 euros), non-compliance with the budget and non-compliance with the obligation to constitute reserve funds (3,900 euros). All this for the 2023-2024 season.
The club has suffered greatly from the Covid-19 pandemic and rising energy costs in recent years, in addition to being one of the smallest budgets in professional basketball. In 2023, Tarbes Gespe Bigorre launched a call for donations, to be able to complete its budget, it was missing 200,000 euros.
This season, after twelve days of championship, the Tarbaises are 7th in the ranking.
