Youssef En-Nesyri continues to tread water with Fenerbahçe. The Moroccan international was once again decisive by scoring in his club’s victory against Kasimpasa (3-0), in the first match of the group stage of the Turkish Cup.
En-Nesyri opened the scoring for Fenerbahçe in the 2nd minute, before his teammates, Yusuf Akçaycık and Bartuğ Elmaz, scored a goal in the 27th and 45th minutes respectively.
Fenerbahçe shares the lead in Turkish Cup Group B with Gaziantep and Göztepe, each with three points.
The goal scored by En-Nesyri is his 12th of the season with the Turkish club, having played 26 matches this year.
-This success comes at a crucial time for Fenerbahçe, whose management faces a significant offer from Al-Nassr, in Saudi Arabia, to recruit En-Nesyri during the winter transfer window. The Atlas Lion refused to join the Saudi club and would like to continue to perform well within the Turkish team, on the sidelines of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The club’s management echoed the sentiment, with sources confirming their intention to retain the Moroccan, citing his recent performances and leadership on the pitch as invaluable assets.
In a recent interview, En-Nesyri shared his excitement about playing under Jose Mourinho. “He’s a great coach, and I’ve learned a lot here. Before coming, he told me about the stature of the club and the beauty of this city. I am here to help him and Fenerbahçe achieve great things,” he declared.
