FC Barcelona: Laporta’s spectacular tantrum

The president of FC Barcelona Joan Laporta was unable to hold himself together this Wednesday during the victory against Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup (2-0).

FC Barcelona can breathe. The request for an emergency precautionary measure filed on Tuesday to obtain the registration of Dani Olmo and Victor was validated by the Superior Sports Council (CSD) yesterday early evening. Both players are now registered with LaLiga and retain their licenses. They did not appear on the scoresheet against Athletic Bilbao (2-0) yesterday but could be lined up in the final on Sunday. This measure, however, remains provisional, the CSD not deciding on the merits of the matter, but it allows the Catalans to breathe… and Joan Laporta to relax a little. Maybe too much…

Laporta’s insults

Yesterday, a few minutes before the start of the match against Athletic, the president of Barça and his management appeared all smiles after difficult days when opposition groups demanded their resignation. Esport 3 even revealed images of a euphoric Laporta when learning the news for Olmo and Victor. A euphoria that President Culé translated into shouts and arms of honor. All accompanied by “sons of pu…” shouted very loudly and which the Spanish press thinks are intended for LaLiga and the federation.

Louzan calms things down

The new president of the RFEF, Rafael Louzan, was however not present in the stands at that time but the exchanges between Blaugrana and members of the RFEF in the officials’ area were said to have been very cold. Asked about the CSD’s decision, Louzan preferred to play it diplomatic. Finally, Marca adds that the most tense moment was when Laporta saw the presidents of the regional associations arrive and asked them who they were, which gave rise to new cries and insults, surprise and indignation of those present. The Barcelona president even kicked some objects that were on the scene.
