In the final round of qualifying for the Australian Open, French tennis will have five representatives, including three women. Léolia Jeanjean (photo) and Selena Janicijevic will be pitted against each other.
The Blues contingent will be important for the first Australian Open and there is already reinforcement assured among the ladies. Three French women obtained their place for the final round of qualifying in Melbourne. Two of them will face each other in the decisive match: Selena Janicijevicvictorious over Georgian Mariam Bollevadze (6/4, 6/2), will be opposed to Léolia Jeanjeansuperior to the German Ella Seidel (5/7, 6/4, 6/2).
The winner could be accompanied by another Frenchwoman in the big picture. Carole Monnet dominated the Slovakian Renata Jamrichova (7/6, 6/2). One more victory would open the doors to his very first Australian Open.

Among the men, there will be two to try their luck for the big picture. Out of the qualifiers last year (defeat in the 1st round against Daniil Medvedev), Terence Atmane achieved a nice performance by eliminating the No. 2 seed in this qualifying table, the Italian Mattia Bellucci (7/6, 6/4). Clement Chidekhhe was superior to the Swiss Jerome Kym (6/7, 6/3, 6/2).
Titouan Droguet et Valentin Royerthey did not manage to overcome this 2nd obstacle.
