A new podcast on the role of women in hockey will launch next month. Winnipegger Alyssa Houde, former podcast host Game Over Winnipegis at the helm of this new project entitled The Chel Chit Chat.

It will cover the National Hockey League (NHL), junior hockey as well as the Professional Women’s Hockey League (LPHF).

Last year, the LPHF began its activities. Several Manitobans, such as Jocelyne Larocque, Ashton Bell and Kristen Campbell, play in this league.

In the National Hockey League, Saskatchewan native Jessica Campbell from Rocanville, near the border with Manitoba, was named assistant coach of the Seattle Kraken last July.

She is the first woman to occupy a position behind a bench in the NHL.
