After two defeats in a row in Sacramento then Golden State (“back-to-back”), the Sixers move forward by winning without trembling (123-94) against a team of Nets greatly reduced, due to the absences of Cam Thomas, Ben Simmons and Cam Johnson. To make matters worse, D’Angelo Russell was injured during the match.

Easy inside, Joel Embiid (28 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists) in any case showed the way to Philadelphiawho relied on a sharp collective to sign this authoritarian success at Brooklyn. The only time the visitors trembled was when they were down 11-0 at the start of the match.

Except that the Sixers then responded with a scathing… 29-8, which propelled them into control from the first quarter and until the finish, relying as much as possible on Joel Embiid, with very good support from Tyrese Maxey, Caleb Martin and Paul George.

At the height of their domination, looking like an early Sunday stroll, Philadelphia was up to 31 points ahead, of course in attack and defense, before heading back to Pennsylvania to conclude this salvo meetings outside.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

Philadelphia ends its “road trip” well. After six games away from home, which saw them win four times and lose twice, the Sixers can return home for three games with a feeling of confidence and success, as they continue to climb the rankings and to be at the height of the Top 10. This night, against a team certainly far from threatening because of all its injuries, Joel Embiid’s teammates did the job and therefore held their position, as hoped. Collectively, things worked (despite still high turnovers) and, unsurprisingly, it resulted in a big success.

Brooklyn continues its fall. This now makes twelve defeats in sixteen games for the Nets who, after an attractive start to the season but visibly overheating, are sinking in the rankings. Not necessarily surprising when we remember that they were called upon to squat at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, but the impression left on the field is less and less positive and that is perhaps what bothers the most . Even if the various absences obviously don’t help either…
