A final climb which could allow Hugo Lapalus to get on the final podium. In great form, the Frenchman ranked 8th in today’s race (at 8”9) and is in fifth place overall (at 2’44”), although he is one of the specialists in the the specific effort of Alpe Cermis (3rd last year). Despite a decimated French team (retirement this Saturday of Rémi Bourdin, ill, after those of Schély, Chanavat, Lapierre and Jouve), the Blues could have two members in the top 10 in the final ranking since the young Mathis Desloges occupies ninth place from the general to 3’12” from Klaebo.
