Given the team’s situation, the transfer window promises to be hectic in Kortrijk. The club has already formalized a departure this morning.
It was in the air, it is now official: Takuro Kaneko is no longer a player Kortrijk. The Japanese defender returns to the country, he has reached an agreement with the Urawa Red Diamonds.
The 27-year-old from Japan has started 11 Pro League matches this season, although he lost his place in the team a few weeks ago.
A choice of the heart
It is all the more surprising since Kaneko arrived at the Stade des Eperons d’Or this summer, signing a contract there until June 2027.
But in the meantime, the situation has evolved: the player has become a father, his recently born daughter has remained in the country. It therefore became urgent for Taneko to return to the Japanese championship.
Urawa finished thirteenth (out of twenty) in the Japanese J-League, which reached its epilogue a month ago. Takuro Kaneko therefore arrives at the right time to prepare for the new season.
