Outlook 2025 (3/5): spring with challenges for Jura sport

The holidays are now behind and it is time to look forward to a year 2025 which will once again be rich in sporting news. Several flagship clubs in our canton will experience intense coming months, with many challenges. The first months of the year will be very important for Jura sport, in particular for the spearheads of our region in the key disciplines.

HCA and SRD in survival mode

HC Ajoie are bottom of the National Ice Hockey League at the start of 2025, while SR Delémont are currently at the bottom of the table in the Promotion League, but on the right side of the bar. Part of the fate of the Ajoulots will certainly be decided in the play-out. It is difficult to see how the HCA could make up the fifteen points that separate it from the 11e et 12e place in the ranking. If the play-out goes badly, then Ajoulot’s future could be decided in an emotional play-off against the Swiss League champion, as long as he can move up. For example, we could relive a series of all the dangers against the best enemy chaux-de-fonnier.

On the SRD side this time, the last matches of 2024 are a source of hope… if the Delémontains are only two points ahead of the bar, they seem much better equipped to maintain than their detractors at the bottom of the table. Good recruitment and good preparation will allow the capital’s footballers to get through this. Winning quickly to take shelter and play liberated is the obsession of the club dear to president Patrick Fleury.

We will also closely follow the outcome of the season of another flagship club in our region, Franches-Montagnes. The newly promoted Taignon will have to fight in the coming weeks to validate his ticket for the League A play-offs. If the VFM does not succeed, however, it seems that relegation is absolutely not to be feared. /male
