| Like Cayden Primeau, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard hopes that he will not spend too much time with the Laval Rocket, but he does not think about it too much.

“Of course you think about it, all the players here want to be recalled. Having played [à Montréal] “Last year, my goal was to be called up, but at the same time, the challenge is to stay in the present moment and take things one game at a time.”

The forward has played 15 games since being traded to the American League club after returning to action following a broken leg suffered over the summer.

“It’s starting to get better, especially in terms of skating. I would say that the first eight games were more difficult. But I watch the videos from the beginning and now and it’s positive.

“It was a lot of explosion, often my skate was too flat on the ice and it’s details like that that make you a second slower.”

Not just points

Harvey-Pinard emphasizes that his decision-making has also improved in the last few matches even if it is not yet perfect. Playing regularly to the left of Lucas Condotta allows him to have stability.

“There’s chemistry, you get to know what each other does on the ice and we’re two guys who work on both ends of the ice and we work well together.”

In 15 games, he has 3 goals and 3 assists. It’s not exactly as flamboyant as during his second and third seasons in Laval where he amassed 56 points in 69 games and 31 points in 40 games, respectively.

“My game is not just focused on points,” he insists. First of all, I always wanted to play well defensively and after that, the offense will come by itself. I don’t have a large number of points, but we generate chances in each match.
