The start-up to follow: MyRookie
Former rugby player, from Toulouse Eric Anselme launched MyRookie in 2019, an application which borrows its name from sports jargon, where a “rookie” designates a player who is completing his first season in a professional club.
Specializing in the screening of players for rugby XV, XIII and 7, the application aims to offer athletes, who dream of a high-level sporting career but who have neither the means nor the codes and even less the necessary network, a direct and simplified route to a professional career in France and or tostranger.
Thanks to an initial fundraising of 150 K€ carried out in 2023 and the arrival of a major investor in the person of a French rugby international, the application is today positioned as a premium intermediate between athletes and recruiters from around the world. In detail, this LinkedIn you rugby includes three main functionalities: the publication of a CV, real multimedia and digital profile (statistics, videos, etc.), the publication of announcements (job offers, detection days, etc.) and finally, the request for connection which, if accepted, allows the two interlocutors to exchange via secure messaging.
With already more than 14,000 players and almost 2,000 recruiters registered in around thirty countries, Éric Anselme is on the verge of succeeding in his challenge, namely to make MyRookie a key player in digital sports recruitment. To accelerate its development and open up to other sports such as footballbasketball or handball, Éric Enselme announced his desire to lift €1 million at the start of 2025.
