Gift Orban to relaunch his career in the Bundesliga

A year ago, La Gantoise made its cash register ring by selling Malick Fofana and Gift Orban to Olympique Lyonnais. In , young talents experienced a very different fate. While Fofana was on the rise in recent months, Orban disappeared from circulation.

The 22-year-old striker has not made it past five appearances for this season, in which he has scored twice. His last minutes of play date back to early November; in Ligue 1, he hasn’t even played since the end of September.

Orban already has a foot and a half in Hoffenheim!

A transfer therefore seems imminent, especially since Lyon is facing major financial problems and could therefore use the money from a sale wisely. It looks like Orban will quickly find a new challenge.

The Nigerian has been linked with Hoffenheim in recent weeks (see Footnews: https://tinyurl.com/yexcyv84) and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports today that the transfer is all but done. The two clubs have reached an agreement, all that remains is for Orban to finalize the final details.

The Gantoise is very attentive

In the Bundesliga, he hopes to revive his career. Hoffenheim could really use Orban’s goals, as they are only fifteenth after 15 days, just above the relegation line.

We will also follow the case closely at La Gantoise, because the Buffalos are entitled to a percentage of the capital gains in the event of resale. For them, it will therefore be interesting to see how much Lyon can recover in the deal.
