This season, Anderlecht proves that it can fight again with the best teams. A renewal which can be explained in several different ways.
There is notably the arrival of David Hubert, who was promoted to head coach first on an interim basis then on a permanent basis. The internal choice of someone who already knew the U18s but who beyond that has the DNA of the club.
The DNA of the club
Perfectly bilingual, Hubert knows quite a few players in his current squad having followed them or accompanied them with the RSCA Futures. An academy which is operating at full capacity and which has produced players who achieve great performances. The two spearheads are Mario Stroeykens and Killian Sardella.
Having both started in the first team after long periods of doubt. Stroeykens has long been a player who was considered to have no better place while Sardella had been disliked by a large part of the public.
A new generation
In a few months, the status of both has changed and while Sardella has already been called up to the Red Devils, Stroeykens should soon follow the same path. A great example of success from Neerpede, who allowed Sporting to dominate with the generation of players like Romemlu Lukaku.
We can obviously still add the accounts in the green, with effective recruitments and player valuations which have brought money into the coffers. After many complicated years, Sporting seems to see the end of the tunnel.
However, falling behind others will not be easy because at the same time teams like Club Brugge or Genk obviously did not wait. winning a trophy at the end of the season is far from won but the club has in any case stabilized.
