His name was removed from the injured list, and Dumais was loaned to the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL). Dumais was unable to take part in the Jackets camp due to a lower body injury. He has been on the injured list since October 7.

Aged 20, Dumais recorded 119 goals and 325 points in four seasons with the Halifax Mooseheads. He is the leader of this franchise, where legends have paraded, for goals, assists and points.

Last year, the winger played on the first line of the Canadian team at the World Junior Championship. He had two points in five games. After the tournament, the 5’8″, 169 lb player required surgery after aggravating an abdominal injury.

Dumais’ time among the juniors was tarnished by his arrest last March for impaired driving. The Mooseheads suspended him for five games in response.

Dumais was a third round pick of the Blue Jackets, the 96e overall, in the 2022 draft.
