Journalist

After trying different sports, Thibault turned to a career as an amateur footballer. When making a choice between becoming a professional footballer and a journalist, the qualities tipped the scales to one side. Here he is now in the editorial staff of 10 Sport, after a diploma obtained at the International Institute of Communication in .

A little over a year ago now, Daniel Riolo lost his temper live against Bradley Barcola. Upset, the RMC journalist then went so far as to give a far from flattering nickname to the PSG player: Bambi. Riolo then continued to press Barcola by recalling this nickname. Something that the Parisian would have visibly experienced badly, going so far as to make a very specific request.

Daniel Riolo a Bradley Barcola in his sights for a while now. It all started following a Champions League match between PSG and Newcastle when, live on RMCthe journalist compared the Parisian to Bambi. “ The famous evening of PSG-Newcastle, I threw out this nickname because I was very angry, I don't like it when players are sent to the death penalty like that. Afterwards we enter the game where I say that it probably does not yet have the level of the Champions League, I was convinced of that », recalled Riolo during L’After Foot.

“He lived the nickname Bambi very badly”

For more than a year, Daniel Riolo made a series of tackles against Bradley Barcolathen using the nickname Bambi. But that is now ancient history since the player of the PSG allegedly asked him to stop. On RMC, Riolo indeed stated: “ I was made out to be the super tough guy, this, that. I always believe that the toughest are the ones who give false compliments and who turn on guys at an incredible speed. I will end with a personal anecdote. I was officially given the message and when it comes from the player, I stop. If the guy tells me “it’s not okay”… He took the nickname Bambi very badly, it affected him. There's no problem, I don't. But that doesn't mean you aren't capable of overcoming this. I find that already, it's not very positive ».

The parallel with Rayan Cherki

Critics of Daniel Riolo therefore did not pass by Bradley Barcola. This, however, is not the case for Rayan Cherkiwho obviously used them wisely. “ At the same time, Cherki's entourage sent me the message that, the criticisms that I had been able to express about him and the shift into something very positive in recent weeks, that we had used everything what I said about him to help him progress. Which shows great mental strength ”, said Riolo.
