The Montreal Alouettes announced Friday that they have signed a one-year contract with quarterback Caleb Evans.
In eight games in 2024, he has accumulated 307 passing yards, completing 26 of his 45 passes, in addition to throwing four touchdown passes. On the ground, the 26-year-old quarterback carried the ball 24 times for gains of 55 yards and four majors.
In August he suffered a season-ending knee injury.
“Caleb has been with us for two years and he has integrated well into our training,” said Alouettes general manager Danny Maciocia in a press release.
“He is capable of playing several roles within our team and, regardless of the order book, we know that he will do what we ask of him. It represents a good insurance policy in our eyes. »
The former Louisiana Monroe University Warhawks, who played in every game for the Alouettes in 2023, won his two starts with the team. That year, he had three touchdown passes and eight rushing touchdowns, lifting the Gray Cup at the end of the campaign.
Before joining the Alouettes in 2023, Evans played 26 games in two campaigns with the Ottawa Redblacks.
