Modou Lô, still king of the arena
Modou “Kharagne” Lô has once again proven his hegemony in the Senegalese struggle. After defeating Boy Niang 2, nicknamed “the son of Gaulle”, he retained his royal crown. This victory completes a series of successes against Pikine wrestlers such as Eumeu Sène and Ama Baldé, reinforcing his status as the executioner of Pikine wrestlers.
On November 24, Modou Lô shone again by winning against Tarkinda Siteu, consolidating his place at the top of Senegalese wrestling.
Tribute to Gaston Mbengue
On May 1, 2024, Senegalese wrestling lost an emblematic figure, Gaston Mbengue, nicknamed the “Don King of the arena”. Died at the age of 73 after a long illness, Gaston played a major role in the professionalization and media coverage of this sport in Senegal.

•May 5 – Pokola Baldé vs Lys Ndiago: In an epic fight, Pokola Baldé triumphed over Lys Ndiago by arbitration decision, offering wrestling fans a spectacle worthy of the very essence of this sport.
•May 5 – Eumeu Sène vs Sa Thiès: Eumeu Sène put a stop to the rise of Sa Thiès during his baptism of fire among the VIPs, inflicting a significant defeat on the latter.
Scandals and twists and turns
Lake 2 in the spotlight: On May 15, Le puncheur du walo was arrested for visa trafficking, an event that shook the Senegalese wrestling community.
•Suspension of Ada Fass: On July 30, the National Management Committee (CNG) suspended Ada Fass for one year, following behavior deemed inappropriate during her fight against Gouye Gui. However, on December 23, he was pardoned, allowing this wrestler to turn the page on this tumultuous episode.
The consecration of Balla Gaye 2
On July 16, Balla Gaye 2 recalled his domination by winning the crown of emperors after a resounding victory over the giant Baol. The “Lion of Guédiawaye” has once again proven that he remains an essential pillar of the Senegalese arena.

On October 31, a wind of renewal blew through the National Management Committee (CNG) with the arrival of Malick Ngom at the head of the institution, succeeding Bira Sène.

On November 9, Omar Kane, aka Reug Reug, wrote a new page in MMA history by becoming the first Senegalese to defeat Anatoly Malykhyn, the formidable Russian champion. A performance that left its mark and put Senegal on the international mixed martial arts scene.
End of the year in style
On December 22, Mor Kang closed the year with a resounding victory against Boy Diop 2. Although defeated, the latter impressed with his ability to mobilize crowds.
The year 2024-2025 will be remembered as a year of strong emotions and great upheavals for Senegalese wrestling. Between triumphs, dramas and renewal, the arena has once again demonstrated its central place in the hearts of the Senegalese.
