The Moroccan Tourism Office (ONMT) presented an ambitious action plan for 2025 during a board meeting on December 23 in Rabat.

Under the leadership of the Minister of Tourism, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, a series of projects and strategic objectives were announced to continue the strong growth of the tourism sector. The plan focuses on innovation, expanding into new markets and leveraging international events such as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).

The action plan includes the launch of new marketing campaigns, expansion of air routes and an intensification of digital promotion. The number of aircraft seats will be increased to 13.3 million, an increase of 20% compared to 2024. In addition, new markets such as the United States, Canada and Eastern Europe will be further developed, with new roads and improved connectivity.

On digital, the Visit Morocco platform is updated to respond to the latest trends in the sector. At the same time, the campaign “ Ntla9awfbladna » will focus on strengthening domestic tourism, supported by in-depth market analysis.

The ONMT also plans to increase the number of overnight stays to 9.23 million, an annual growth of 20%. The agency wants to attract 2.5 million additional tourists via tour operators and online travel agencies, which represents an increase of 25%.

The 2025 African Cup constitutes an important spearhead in this strategy. The ONMT considers the event not only as a sporting affair, but also as a unique opportunity to position Morocco as a leading African destination. A large-scale promotional campaign is expected to reinforce Morocco's image as ” football land » and contribute to the continued growth of tourism.

Plans for 2025 build on the exceptional performance of 2024. With tourism growth of 19%, Morocco welcomed 15.9 million visitors. Tourism revenue increased by 9% to 97 billion dirhams, while the number of overnight stays increased by 10% to 24.1 million.

Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor highlighted the power of cooperation during the presentation: “ Thanks to the efforts of public and private actors and international partners, we have been able to achieve these results. We are continuing this trend with our new action plan ».

The ONMT board of directors unanimously approved the 2024 report, the 2025 budget and the new action plan. These projects mark a new step in strengthening Morocco's position as a world-class tourist destination.
