Madrid takes power in Spain. Real took advantage of FC Barcelona's defeat in the clash against Atlético to move ahead of the Catalan club in the standings, thanks to their home victory against Sevilla FC (4-2). The Merengue started the match well thanks to a splendid goal from Kylian Mbappé, also a decisive passer. This new victory allows Real Madrid to return to one point in the lead before enjoying some well-deserved celebrations. The second part of the season promises to be exciting in the fight for the title.

Looking at the confidence and assurance he exuded when hitting from outside the box, some would say that the great Kylian Mbappé is back. In any case, it was the French striker who put Real Madrid on the right track against Sevilla, with a powerful and unstoppable right shot (1-0, 10th). Ten minutes later, Federico Valverde imitated him after an intelligently played corner back (2-0, 20th). Everything was smiling for the Merengue, with maximum offensive success.
A high-level offensive performance for Real
The domination continued and materialized well before the break, when Rodrygo invited himself to the party by taking, with first intention, an uncontrolled cross from Lucas Vazquez (3-0, 34th). Real's score was perfect, but there had to be a small shadow on the board: defensive passivity quickly punished by Isaac Romero, scorer with a header (3-1, 35th). Behind, Madrid was not always completely serene, but Sevilla was not efficient enough to take advantage as it should.
We take as proof this 3-2 ball from Romero, who came up against a previously guilty Thibaut Courtois on the restart (48th). An action that could have changed everything, and revived a much more aggressive Sevilla FC team after returning from the locker room. Unfortunately, they once again suffered an opposing spark, a new phase well constructed by the Merengue, with Mbappé fine passer for Brahim Diaz (4-1, 53rd). Sevilla still offered itself the means to give Real a few final thrills in 2024, since Romero hit the post (73rd) and Dodi Lukébabio deceived a not very calm Courtois (4-2, 85th). Wasted effort: for his last career match, Sevillian Jesus Navas suffered a defeat at the Bernabéu.
