Mercato: Departure considered for Jota, information taken for Tenas and Mbemba?
According to L'Equipe, there should be movement in both directions in Rennes this winter, but not excessively either. Information would have been taken on Arnau Tenas and Chancel Mbemba, while a departure of Jota could not be ruled out.
How can Rennes get out of this situation? Twelfth in Ligue 1 at the break, the Breton club is very far from its objectives at the start of the season and maintenance is more of a reality than Europe. An active winter transfer window is therefore expected, after a historic summer which saw the SRFC renew itself in almost all positions.
According to L'Equipe, departures would condition arrivals. Naouirou Ahamada, Baptiste Santamaria, Christopher Wooh and Henrik Meister, for whom a loan could be possible, are concerned, greatly lacking playing time. But this would also be the case for Jota, for whom “nothing is excluded”, half a season after his arrival. After taking time to get back up to speed, the Portuguese played little under Jorge Sampaoli.
On the arrivals side, the track leading to Gerson (ex-OM) in the middle would be ruled out, while information would have been taken on goalkeeper Arnau Tenas (PSG), already mentioned this summer, and Chancel Mbemba, put on the shelf in Marseille. If Meister left, a central striker would be sought, while in the middle an impactful element is expected. While none of the players who arrived this summer knew Ligue 1, this time it would be a question of Frederic Massara finding players experienced in the French championship.
