Yousri Bouzok's adventure at Raja Casablanca has officially ended after a series of tensions and controversies. The Algerian striker and the leaders of the Moroccan club have reached an agreement for an amicable separation, putting an end to an increasingly conflictual relationship.
Arrived at Raja in August 2022 after a notable stint at Paradou AC, Bouzok had nevertheless given a glimpse of promising potential with 23 goals and 21 assists in 93 matches. However, the last months of his time with the Greens were marked by major disagreements, notably with the coach Ricardo Sa Pinto
The breaking point appears to have been reached in the CAF Champions League group stage. Bouzok had been the subject of a huge scandal in Morocco, accused of having refused to wear a jersey displaying a map of the Kingdom including the Sahara Occidental, which sparked strong criticism. Subsequently, his exclusion from the match sheet against Mamelodi Sundownsafter a disagreement with his trainer, amplified the tensions.
Faced with this situation, Bouzok was summoned twice before the club's disciplinary committee. No longer wishing to continue his adventure Raja, he decided to waive his financial rights, estimated at nearly 160 000 eurosthus facilitating the termination of his contract.
Now free from any commitment, Bouzok may consider bouncing to another club. This separation ends a turbulent period for the 28-year-old Algerian player, top scorer and passer of the previous Botola opuswhich had caused a lot of ink to flow in recent weeks in Morocco. For the moment, and according to the latest information available, the Saudi Arabian track seems the most plausible.
