The Frenchwoman won this Friday in the Grand-Bornand sprint during the Biathlon World Cup.
Frenchwoman Justine Braisaz-Bouchet won the sprint (7.5 km) in Grand-Bornand (France) counting for the Biathlon World Cup on Friday afternoon, her first victory of the winter ahead of German Franziska Preuss, leader in the general classification.
Despite a mistake on the standing shot, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet was faster on skis than Preuss, whom she beat by a little more than a second (+1.4). Third place went to Slovenian Anamarija Lampic (+13.7), who reached the podium for the first time in her career despite two mistakes on the shooting range.

At 28, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet signs her 12th career victory, she who also won gold in the mass start at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2022 and at the World Championships in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic) in 2023. She was already imposed on Grand-Bornand in December 2017 on the mass start, its favorite racing format.
“JBB” won three sprints last season (at Lenzerheide, Oberhof and Soldier Hollow), and took silver in Nove Mesto over this distance at the 2023 Worlds.

Penalized by two shooting errors, Julia Simon took 7th place in the sprint, 37 seconds behind Braisaz-Bouchet.
Winner of the pursuit in Hochfilzen (Austria) last week, Lou Jeanmonnot achieved the bad thing of the day, with three faults on the standing shot, a 35th place at the finish and a delay of almost a minute and a half on the head. She lets Franziska Preuss escape at the top of the general classification of the Biathlon World Cup, now almost 100 points behind.
The results of the sprint as well as the gaps are kept for the starting order of the pursuit (10 km), scheduled for Saturday (2:45 p.m.).
