Habib Beye, expected to replace Kombouaré at FC Nantes, saw negotiations fail due to disagreements over staff.
Franco-Senegalese coach Habib Beye has been going through a period of uncertainty since his departure from Red Star at the end of last season. Despite his ambitions to reach a new level, the former Olympique de Marseille player remains without a club.
Negotiations well advanced with FC Nantes
Discussions between FC Nantes and Sergio Conceição had failed. Habib Beye had emerged as a credible option to replace Antoine Kombouaré. According to The Teamthe negotiations between the Nantes leaders and the Canal+ consultant were promising. His experience with Red Star, combined with his charismatic personality, made him an ideal candidate to revitalize the Canaries.
However, these discussions ultimately failed. This marks another blow in Habib Beye's quest to settle on a Ligue 1 bench.
The future staff: a major point of disagreement
One of the decisive obstacles in the negotiations was the composition of the future coaching staff. Habib Beye wanted to integrate Sébastien Bichard, his former assistant at Red Star, as well as Grégory Dupont, renowned for his success with the French team and Real Madrid. However, the latter declined the proposal, complicating Beye's plans.
This setback cooled the enthusiasm of the Nantes management. President Wlademar Kita, who was not convinced by the alternatives proposed by Beye to compose his technical team.
FC Nantes, which hoped for new momentum under the leadership of Beye, must now relaunch its search for a coach. For his part, the 47-year-old technician will have to wait before making his dream of managing a Ligue 1 team come true.
In the meantime, Habib Beye remains on the market, looking for a project that will recognize his potential and offer him the opportunity to prove his qualities at the highest level.
