The Conference League group stage is over, and Belgian clubs have had mixed performances.
Cercle Brugge qualified for the round of 16 with a 1-1 draw against Basaksehir and are among the top eight teams. On the other hand, Gent finished in 17th place after a 1-0 defeat to bottom-placed Larne and must first qualify via the play-offs.
La Gantoise will face one of the teams ranked from 9th to 24th position. Potential opponents are Heidenheim (16th) or Betis Seville (15th).
The first leg will take place on February 13 in Ghent, with the return leg on February 20. If the Buffalos pass, they will face tough opponents like Chelsea or Vitória Guimaraes in the round of 16.
Cercle de Bruges qualified directly for the round of 16. The draw against Basaksehir was enough to reach the top eight, avoiding the intermediate round. The opponents in the next round seem more accessible on paper for Cercle, with possible opponents such as Molde (Norway), Shamrock Rovers (Ireland), Bialystok (Poland) or TSC Topola (Serbia).
The draw for the Conference League round of 16 will take place on February 21. The matches themselves are scheduled for March 6 and 13.
